Meta AI Stickers
Enable users to create stickers using generative AI
Context
As generative AI became a core priority at Meta, the focus was on making visual creation intuitive, playful, and high quality. That work became the foundation for AI Stickers, enabling people to generate custom stickers from simple prompts using Meta’s Llama-based image models.
I led the design of the visual and experiential system behind AI Stickers, partnering closely with AI research and engineering to bring the model to a consumer-ready bar. We defined clear visual styles, aesthetic principles, and quality guidelines to ensure expressive, on-brand results across diverse prompts.
In parallel, we designed an approachable end-to-end experience grounded in familiar UI patterns, with lightweight prompting guidance, clear feedback, and simple controls that encouraged exploration without friction.
The work was introduced publicly by Mark Zuckerberg during his keynote at Meta Connect 2023. Within the first month, AI Stickers surpassed 4 million monthly active users, validating our design approach for accessible generative AI experiences.
